What Does the Subsidy Cover?
- Backwater valve installation: up to $1,750
- Sump pump with battery backup: up to $1,750
- Combined maximum: $3,400 (or 80% of eligible costs)
Who Qualifies?
- Own a residential property in Toronto
- Have a combined sewer connection (most pre-1960 areas)
- Haven't previously received this subsidy
- Use a licensed plumber (required — unlicensed installation is not eligible)
How to Apply (We Handle Everything)
- Call Dr. Plumbing at (416) 880-1374 for a free assessment
- We determine if your home qualifies
- We install the backwater valve and/or sump pump
- We provide all required documentation
- We submit the subsidy application to the City on your behalf
- The City processes the application (typically 8–12 weeks)
- You receive a cheque from the City
